Honorably designed Q2 19th century Gothic revival home

"Less is more." / "God is in the details." (Mies van der Rohe)

Gothic revival house designed by Augustus Welby Pugin (before 1853). Note the almost modernist austerity of form [followiing function]. Contrast this with a postmodernist archeological deformed architectural stillbirth or MacMansion.

How can we have regressed so much in a century and a half? Perhaps by having kept America (The land of The Free and the Home of The Brave...) beautiful?
