Oedipus, a preventable tragedy.

Sigmund Freud had the Oedipus story backwards.Maybe to protect his unaluzed self-image as a paterfamilias? Oedipus did everything he could to aviod killing his father. But his father hired hit men to snuff him out as a defenseless infant, and later tried to kill him by vehicular homocide, although in the latter case the reckless driver did not know whom he was trying to run off the road. My (BMcC[18-11-46-503]) analysis of the Oedipus story: here.
