 [ Read about more irrational American middle-class social customs! ] [ ] Both the pillarless coupe (AKA "hardtop") automobiles of the 1960's, and strapless wonen's dresses of any vintage, sacrifice rational structural support for the sake of a fashionable appearance. Why do this when keeping the straps/pillars not only works bettter but can also look good?  [ ]
